Savonlinna International Nature Film Festival postponed until 2021

The Savonlinna International Nature Film Festival, organized annually in August, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic until 2021.

”With heavy hearts, we regret to inform that it has been unsustainable for our festival production to wait so long for the new measures regarding the events and gatherings planned for late summer.” said festival’s director Annakaisa Vänttinen.

”To guarantee the safety has been a constant issue during this spring. The health and safety of all our visitors, filmmakers and volunteers is our number one priority, that’s why we have decided to postpone the festival to be held in 2021.”

The next Savonlinna International Nature Film Festival will be held in Savonlinna on 19.-22.8.2021. First programme releases will be made during Spring 2021.

Though the main event is postponed, festival will organize a virtual nature film event for schools in Savonlinna and its surroundings. In addition festival will show nature films in nursing homes in Savonlinna. All screenings are organized without any contact to guarantee the health and safety of the viewers.

Savonlinna International Nature Film Festival has been organized for 11 years and last year the festival had 3 800 visitors. For more information:
